6-Week Foundational Life Skills for Women Program

This six-week program is tailored for immigrant and marginalized women every Saturday. Its purpose is to provide them with the tools they need to improve their personal and professional lives, fostering greater independence and confidence.

Training Objectives:

  • Reading Skills: Techniques for understanding and analyzing texts
  • Writing Basics: Forms, applications, and emails
  • Numeracy Skills: Basic arithmetic, budgeting, and financial literacy
  • Digital Literacy: Using word processors, online safety, email, and internet navigation
  • Mentoring Opportunities
  • Job Support

A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course.

Who Is Eligible:
Eligibility is open to residents of Ontario who fall into any of the following categories:

  • A naturalized Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or their dependent, Convention refugee, or refugee claimant; or
  • Individuals approved as permanent residents, or their dependents, who have not yet been processed to receive permanent resident status (e.g., those approved under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program or the Canadian Experience Class); or
  • Individuals admitted under a federal caregiver program with a pathway to permanent residency.
