The Ontario government is investing over $500,000 through the Skills Development Fund (SDF) to support two training projects in Brampton. These initiatives aim to provide free training to more than 1,200 internationally-trained jobseekers, helping them secure jobs in high-demand sectors like construction and healthcare. The funding includes $350,000 for the Sri Guru Nanak Sikh Centre to train newcomers and $200,500 for Dynacare Gamma Laboratory Partnership to train medical laboratory technologists. This investment is part of Ontario’s broader efforts to address labor shortages and support economic growth. Applications are now open for the fifth round of SDF funding, with up to $260 million available.
