Grown in Peel links people to the farmers and farm families who produce their food as well as the land where the food is grown.

Flea Markets

Flea markets are shopping places where small businesses can sell their goods. Similar to outdoor markets, in Canada, they are usually in large buildings and are open only on the weekends.

Thrift Stores

The Salvation Army, Goodwill and Value Village are stores where you can find affordable, gently used clothing, furniture and other household items.

Garage Sales

In spring and fall, many homeowners have garage sales to sell household items that aren’t useful to them anymore. These sales are usually great for finding gently used furniture, items for the home and even clothing.

Check the local newspapers or watch for signs that advertise garage sales in neighbourhoods. Most garage sales are on weekends and it is best to get there early in the morning to find the best items.
