Canada has unveiled the 2025 Express Entry categories, introducing a new education category to align immigration with long-term labour needs. The focus will be on candidates with Canadian work experience (Canadian Experience Class) for permanent residence.
To meet labour shortages and Francophone immigration targets, category-based invitations will be prioritized:
- French-speaking candidates
- Work experience in key sectors, including:
- Health care & social services (e.g., physicians, nurses, dentists)
- Trades (e.g., carpenters, plumbers, contractors)
- Education (e.g., teachers, child care educators)
These measures aim to attract skilled workers, support Francophone communities outside Quebec, and promote sustainable economic growth.
