Canada extends some temporary measures for Ukrainians

Canada has extended support for Ukrainians who arrived under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET). Those in Canada on or before March 31, 2024, can now apply until March 31, 2026, for a new open work permit (valid for up to three years), a work permit renewal, or a study permit (with standard fees). Visitors and students can also apply to renew their status.

Additionally, free settlement services will remain available until March 31, 2025. Canada continues to assess immigration programs to support those affected by the war in Ukraine.
