Canada invests in services to support economic integration and fill labour market shortages

Jul 28, 2025

Canada’s government is investing over $3.2 billion over three years in more than 520 organizations outside Quebec to improve newcomer integration and address labour shortages. The funding will support tailored settlement services, including licensing assistance, job-specific language training, and support for French-speaking newcomers. The goal is to help newcomers integrate quickly into the workforce, particularly in high-demand sectors such as healthcare and skilled trades, thereby boosting productivity and strengthening Canada’s economy.
