New pathway to permanent residence for families of the victims of flight PS752

Oct 31, 2024

Canada has announced a new pathway to permanent residence for families of victims of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 (PS752), which was tragically downed in 2020. From October 28, 2024, to October 27, 2025, family members of victims who were Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or approved to work or study in Canada can apply for permanent residency.

This initiative, announced by Immigration Minister Marc Miller, extends eligibility to additional family members identified by the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims, addressing those previously ineligible under earlier policies. The pathway reinforces Canada’s commitment to supporting the affected families and upholding justice and accountability. More details are available on the IRCC website.
