Ontario Enhancing Tools to Help People Prepare for Respiratory Illness Season

Sep 30, 2024

The Ontario government urges residents to stay safe during the upcoming respiratory illness season by getting vaccinated for flu, COVID-19, and RSV. Flu shots will be available starting in October, prioritizing vulnerable groups first, with the general public eligible from October 28. COVID-19 vaccines will also be available in early October, and it’s safe to get both vaccines simultaneously. Ontario is expanding its RSV prevention program, offering immunizations to high-risk children, infants, and pregnant women. The government encourages staying updated on all vaccinations, especially for children, to reduce hospital visits and protect public health.
